Eve, First Matriarch
About
Longing …

Mother!
Eve wants nothing more than to fulfill God’s two commandments: live in absolute obedience and replenish the earth with her children. But the power of the Destroyer is strong, and when she’s told she has a chance to fulfill the second commandment by breaking the first… she takes it.
Expelled from a garden paradise into a wild, dangerous world, Eve learns that her failure to obey will someday cause her to die. With a limited time to teach Jehovah’s commandments to her children, she’s devastated when the Destroyer starts to lead them astray. Can Eve overcome evil to teach her children obedience and happiness?
Eve: First Matriarch is a reimagined story of the biblical figure of Eden. If you like rich historical fiction, feminine perspectives, and illuminating stories of motherhood, then you’ll love Angelique Conger’s novel.
Praise for this book
I enjoyed this book. Eve, the first woman, tells her complete story — the wondrous garden, her mate Adam, their eviction from Eden, their challenges to survive, their joy of procreation, their worship of and communication with their Father and His son. Our author is clever and creates a whole world of good and evil, with joy and sorrow, and she expresses a rare view that the fall of man has allowed growth and righteousness that wouldn’t have come otherwise. Interesting and entertaining reading!
It is so wonderful to read an account of a biblical female from a female point of view! The male writers of the bible gave us the moralistic tale which makes Eve the spoiler of perfection but in this wonderful tale Eve becomes human with human frailties and a heart. It is a wonderful fictionalization of the life of Eve the mother and Adam the father told from the heart of a woman who understands being human! Yes there are biblical inconsistencies but it is an amazing look at what might have been had a woman recorded the life of Adam and Eve and the changes they faced leaving Eden and learning to be human rather than biblical perfection. I loved this and couldn't put it down.
Eve is a thoroughly enjoable read. It is the first series starting with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.
Angelique Conger has a wonderful way with writing. The story line is very believable, and eating the forbidden apple starts the book off from freedom to a new hard world of fighting off evil, and, bringing new life into a world where evil will do it's best to show it can, and will change lives forever.
Highly Recommend.
